I have been suffering from eczema my whole life but it has become extremely severe since I have been with my partner. It ebbs and flows but became quite calm about 4 months ago when he quit smoking, out of the blue it flared up severely around 4- 6 weeks ago and he has only just told me that he had been smoking on the quiet for the past 6 weeks. I hadnt been inhaling the smoke or even in the same vicinity but just having the chemicals on his hands, clothes and body caused my skin flare up.

This is fantastic news! I have struggled with eczema my entire life with a very sensitive skin and allergies to soaps, perfumes, nickel, plastic etc etc. I get patches mostly on my face and neck. I have been a smoker for over a decade. However I have just stopped 2 weeks ago. I am really hoping that my eczema goes away and gives me just one more added reason to never light up again! I wonder how long before I see results?

I have switched to e-cigs a month ago. My eczema vanished in 3 weeks.
Now I have the same smooth skin as before.
I have not made any changes to my diet or the creams I use.

I have been dealing with severe hand eczema for a little over a year now. It came out of no where and it has negatively impacted my life since. It is not only painful but unbearably embarrassing. I tried everything from soaks, moisturizers, perdcribed steroids and creams, nothing worked. At some point I thought it might be caused by the fact that I switched to menthol cigarettes a few months before the flare. Nonetheless I kept smoking and my hands got worse. Recently I decided to quit smoking and my hands are brand new! I'm scared that it will come back but I really do think cigarettes had a lot to do with the problem. My hands are almost completely healed. If you have eczema and you smoke, consider quitting. It worked for me and smoking is super toxic anyway. Best of luck!
